Barbara Sakarya, our International and Comparative Collections Librarian, was telling me recently about the OECD Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), which had published the PISA 2009 results.
These triennial surveys of key competencies of 15-year-old students in OECD member countries and partner countries/economies were run in 2000, 2003, 2006 and 2009.
We thought that it would be good to let IOE staff and students know about the OECD’s new online service OECD iLibrary.
This new platform was launched in 2010 and replaces the older SourceOECD service. IOE has a subscription to the OECD iLibrary Education Theme. This means that IOE staff and students have access to:
- around 400 OECD education books in full text
- the journal Higher Education Management and Policy
- OECD Education Statistics.
In addition to this subscribed content, the following in OECD iLibrary are freely accessible to all:
• OECD Factbook
• Working Papers Series including the OECD Education Working Papers Series
• OECD Key Tables.

• There’s a link to OECD iLibrary from the OECD home page
• OECD iLibrary is listed on the Library’s Education Databases page
• Off campus, log in to the IOE Portal and paste the OECD iLibrary address http://www.oecd-ilibrary.org into the URL box. As an IOE member of staff or student you will then have access to all the education-related OECD material we subscribe to.
